From Genesis to the 3rd Gospel, the law was said to be eternal. It’s not until the added texts do we see this attempt to erase the law and to usher in lawlessness. Lawlessness is a state of not keeping the law. Jesus spoke about it repeatedly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What happens if we reject the law?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 7:23 NKJV – “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness<\/em><\/strong>!’
Matthew 13:41 NKJV – “The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So is the law Eternal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 5:17-20 NKJV – “Do not think that I came to destroy<\/a> the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy<\/a> but to fulfill<\/a>. 18 “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away<\/em><\/span><\/strong>, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is<\/strong> fulfilled<\/a>. 19 “Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0 Mt 5:17-20 DV [Literal Version] “Think not that I am come to separate from the law, or the prophets: I am not come to separate from, but to fill it up. For verily I say unto you, Till the heaven in the firmament above and earth pass, one jot or one tittle in no wise pass from the law, till all be filled up. Whosoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and teach men so, he will be called the least in the reign of heaven in the firmament above: but whosoever do and teach [them], the same be called great in the reign of heaven in the firmament above. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye in no case enter into the reign of heaven in the firmament above.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exodus 31:16 (KJV) Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, [for] a perpetual covenant<\/strong><\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leviticus 16:29 And [this] shall be a statute FOREVER<\/strong><\/span><\/em> unto you…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leviticus 16:31 It [shall be] a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute FOREVER<\/strong><\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leviticus 23:21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, [that] it may be a holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work [therein: it shall be] a statute FOREVER<\/strong><\/span><\/em> in all your dwellings throughout your generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leviticus 23:31 Ye shall do no manner of work: [it shall be] a statute FOREVER<\/span><\/strong><\/em> throughout your generations…\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do we inherit eternal life?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 19:16-18 Now behold, one came and said to Him, \u201cGood Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE<\/em><\/span><\/strong>?\u201d 17 So He said to him, \u201cWhy do you call Me good? No one [is] good but One, [that is,] God.
